Elise Frank is a 5th grade teacher at Nystrom Elementary in Richmond, California. She strives to cultivate rigorous, joyful learning in her classroom by building critical thinking skills and teaching content through a conceptual, inquiry-based lens. Integrating strong literacy routines in all academic content (and beyond!) throughout the school day is a particular focus of hers. Elise holds an undergraduate degree in Race and Ethnic Studies from Whitman College and a master’s degree in Urban Education from Loyola Marymount University. When she is not teaching, Elise enjoys hiking, reading, cooking, and spending time with family and friends.
