Goyen Literacy Fellowship

The Goyen Literacy Fellowship (GLF) identifies the best reading teachers in the country and gives them a platform to show other teachers how to get kids reading. The GLF has three key elements:

  1. Sharing best practices for literacy instruction with the world.

  2. Professional community among fellows.

  3. Advocacy for evidence-based instruction.

Each element is grounded in the abiding belief in the dignity of the teacher: as an expert practitioner, a member of a professional community and an influential community leader. Part of recognizing this is compensating our fellows, which we believe is a necessary way to enact our values. Currently, each fellow receives a $2000 stipend for their participation in the program.
