Jen Dove is starting her 17th year in education as a 3rd grade teacher at Linville-Edom Elementary School in Linville, Virginia. She graduated from Eastern Mennonite University with a Bachelor of Science degree in early childhood education and is currently finishing her masters in reading from the University of Virginia. Jen is also LETRS 1 and 2 (Language Essentials for Teachers of Reading and Spelling) certified. After being introduced to evidence-based literacy instruction grounded in the science of reading four years ago, Jen has redone the way she teaches reading in her classroom. She loves helping children learn to read and understand how reading is so important to life outside the classroom. Teaching reading across the curriculum is one of the many aspects of reading she enjoys most. When not at school, Jen loves spending time with her husband, nine year old son and two year old daughter.
