Kerry Cusick

Kerry Cusick comes from deep family roots of many educators. Teaching literacy is truly in her blood! She is extremely passionate about sound, engaging, and research-aligned Structured Literacy instruction and interventions and is currently a Reading Specialist at Blanchard Memorial School in Boxborough, MA. She is certified in Wilson Level 1, LIPS, and trained in IMSE OG Comprehensive. She holds a BA in Elementary and Special Education and a Masters in Education (Literacy) from Providence College. She is ardent about linking Science of Reading research and Structured Literacy by providing teachers and families with an understanding of this approach to reading as well as research-supported ways to support children’s literacy journeys. Supporting teachers in implementing evidence-based literacy practices and teaching young learners how to read are two areas she hopes generate the most success. Backwards planning and design yield most favorable outcomes for her readers. When she is not teaching, you will find her on the sidelines of her kids’ sporting events, walking her dog, or exploring Cape Cod.
